About my American Adventure
In the summer of 2016, I was accepted into the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles. It's a highly prestigious drama school with some fantastic alumni, including Adrien Brody, Anne Hathaway and Jessica Chastain.
During conversations with my friends and family in the run up to my departure, a number spoke about a desire to stay updated with my progress, and an interest in finding out lots of information about how I was getting on in the so-called Land of the Free. Seeing as multiple phone calls across the Atlantic every week isn't a financially realistic option, and the 7 hour time difference means Skype is out of the runnings, I figure it would make more sense to launch a newsletter that anyone can sign up to, to keep up to date with my experience. Creating a mailing list like this also has another benefit - anyone who is interested in drama or wants to go to drama school has another resource to help them in their audition process or shortlisting of potential establishments.
When you sign up to this newsletter, you'll receive regular (or maybe I should say occasional - I really don't know yet) emails, containing updates about my time in Los Angeles, information about what I'm doing at the Academy, as well as opinions about shows or pieces of theatre/film/television I've seen. Who knows, there may even be the odd unrelated blog post!
If you're interested, just go to the Sign Up page and enter your details. Rest assured, nothing will be shared to any third parties, and you won't receive any additional emails outside of the updates I send. If you want to help me on my way and be extra nice, I'd be really grateful if you could donate whatever you can - I am a student, after all.
Thanks very much, and I look forward to sending you a newsletter soon!
